Pain for Paris and still a challenge

For Paris

Today, may we let ordinary things show us
How to make room for heartache and hope
Baking bread
Letting soup simmer all day
Paying attention to the taste of hot sweet tea
Letting the scent of cinnamon slow us down
Permalink voor ingesloten afbeeldingLet’s make love to this day
In the way we linger and listen to each other
Finding a way to be still for three breaths
Letting our hands come to rest on the table
Sitting in the centre of Debussy’s “Claire de Lune”
Softening to the sadness

There is a way to be with anger and fear and grief
A way to hold them with so much tenderness
That terror cannot take root
Let us make a light of that tenderness
Leaning into each other, feeding each other
Creating together a heart that can hold it all

I can't put my challenge in the 'normal' way this week. That's why I started in this different way, that (I believe) says more then I can say in my own words.

Tripoli is a tangle that I don't master at all and today was no exeption. But .... 'it is what it is' and, well the total tile is not too bad I think.

On the web-log of Laura 'I am the diva' you can see what other tanglers made of this challenge and, if you want (and why not?) upload your own tile.

I do appreciate you visiting my blog a lot and I hope you will leave me a comment. I want to thank every one that left me a comment last week. Those comments always brighten my day!

Blessed Be!!!
Annemarie

  1. Thank you for your thoughts about the attacks in Paris. Such a shame the human race is still such a mess. However, you art is fabulous as always.

  2. Lovely thoughts, thanks for finding those words. Your tile is perfect and even a background tint of purple which used to be a semi mourning colour here.

  10. Your poem is very warming and I echo your thoughts. As for the tile, somehow that quiet blue is exactly right.

  11. A beautiful poem, Annemarie. I agree though, it's hard to carry on..we must stop to think. If we focused on the pure and the simple, the world would be a much better place.

  13. Tripoli can be a challenging tangle. I think Laura's advice to keep the space as consistent as possible helps as well as Cris's to not make it too small. This was a tangle that came out shortly after I began tangling so it has always been a part of my work. It does get a little wonky sometimes, but that is part of it's character. I think your tile looks great.
