White on black

This week we get a 'white on black' challenge from Laura and ... I love it.
Don't know why I don't do that more often, because I really like doing that. So, I'm really pleased with this challenge. As soon as these new pens are available in The Netherlands, Im going to buy them of course!

I don't have the original black tiles, but did cut some tiles out of black paper some time ago. So, I took one of them and started. Because I have been drawing a lot of circles the last few weeks, I decided to work in squares this time. A friend gave me some square templates in different sizes some time ago and these are good to use.
I do like the result of this weeks tangling, only now this morning I see that the one at the left is not right-angled.

Thank you for visiting my blog and I hope you leave me a comment; I do appreciate that a lot. Work created by fellow tanglers can be seen at 'I am the diva'.

7 Artoo's

Wow, Artoo celebrated his 7th birthday last Monday! And, for this important occasion the challenge is to use the tangle with his name: 'Artoo'.

I took a tile I colored a long time ago and found out it was hard to tangle on because the paper is very thick and 'bumpy'. More meant to paint on. So, straight lines were very hard to draw, but I did the best I could. As always I don't want to start again, because my first is what I want to use for a challenge.

Because he is seven years old (!?) now, I decided to make a bunch of seven 'Artoo's'; one for every year.
It became a very simple looking tile, but with my sincere congratulations!!

Last week I did another bookmark and, to be honest, I really like this one:

Striping and a busy weekend

Last week I did not comment much because we went away for a long weekend. I'll try to do better this week :-)

We went to Leiden, a town in the west of The Netherlands. There was a small event trying to make people with and without physical disabilities meet and talk about what they have in common and not what the difference between them is.
There was also a possibility to walk with a black pair of spectacles and a cane, experiencing what is is to be blind or riding in a wheelchair a.s.o.

We stayed there in a nice hotel and also visited some musea. On Sunday, before we went home, we went to the shore and, after a lot of rain on Saturday, it was lovely, warm, sunny weather! We even had a cup of coffee on a terrace!

In the hotel I tangled this (on my lap) on 'stijfselmarmer' paper: also ordered a few weeks ago. This beautiful paper is a bit thin for tangling, but very doable.

And now what you came here for: the Diva challenge.
Laura told us on her blog that the first snow has fallen there, so that's a sign winter is really coming. I hope it will stay away for a long time here.

The challenge this week is creating a monotangle with Striping. A tangle that is not used by many tanglers and I'm one of them. I did enjoy doing this though. I tangled on 'elefanthout' paper again.

Tint on new paper

The first Monday of the month and as we are used to .... an UMT. It's Tint, by Henrike Bratz.
A not very difficult tangle, pleasant to do and look at.

Last week I ordered a lot of paper and last Friday it arrived. Had to cut 'tiles' first and I did that yesterday. So, I had to use one for the challenge: this is Elefantenhaut and sooooo fantastic to draw on. Some time ago I saw that Mariët wrote about that paper and I tried to find it here is a shop, but they didn't even know what it was. So, I went on the internet and did find it right away, and with it so much more beautiful paper. Then I became greedy and ordered quite a few, especially when you know how large these sheets of paper are :-) So .... LOTS of tiles!

I'm very pleased to have this paper now (thanks again Mariët) but not so much with my creation on it. I find it's far too busy and not very balanced. Not even now, the next morning :-(
Well, at least I had a nice time doing this.
