I did it my way....

For the first challenge of this month an UMC as usual. It's 'African Artist' by Tina-Akua Hunziker.

My idea was to make my tile for this challenge on Monday evening, but that did not happen because this tangle gave me a lot of trouble. My hand just doesn’t want to do it. I have been trying quite a while and got very irritated and at that point I stopped because I think that’s the opposite of what Zentangle is meant to do.

On Tuesday I had an idea how it would be possible for me to draw this tangle and I was right about that. Not the way it is presented, but done in my way.
Yet a pretty result I think.

On the web-log of Laura 'I am the diva' you can see what other tanglers made of this challenge and, if you want (and why not?) upload your own tile.

I do appreciate you visiting my blog a lot and I hope you will leave me a comment. I want to thank every one that left me a comment last week. Those comments always brighten my day!

It's getting harder

This week's letters are: K, U and C. I always try to use tangles that I didn't use before, but I find it harder and harder each time. Especially because I like them to 'fit' to each other.
So, More and more I will (have to!?) use the same ones.

For this challenge I used:

Kandysnake by Vicki Murray
Umble by Zentangle
and
Cabana by Milde Weiss

By following this link you will see what other tanglers did and also how you yourself can participate.

Thanks a lot for visiting my blog, I hope you will take the time to leave a comment (or even more to become a follower) that will help me learn more.
I will try to comment to every one that did sent in an entry!

A (not very) monotangle tree

For challenge 246 Laura asked Dilip Patel to create this as a guest.
Totally fitting with Dilip (as far as I know) he wrote a beautiful post about the importance of caring for our earth and, in that connection, he mentions the climate top that is held in Paris this week.
He asks us to tangle a tree and in fact a monotangle. Well, I just saw that last part a few moment ago and I did not meet that question at all; maybe I'll make another tile this week and then one that meets the challenge :-)

I didn't find this very easy, had to try (and try and try) drawing a tree on a piece of paper first, because I still can't draw :-(
But ... I do like my tree in the end.

Thank you Dilip and Laura!

D&C 34; just three tangles

The letters H, W and N are the ones for this week’s Alphabet challenge.

I did only use three tangles this time:

Heartrope by Bunny Wright
Wheelz by Suzanne McNeil
and
Nipa by Adle Bruno.

Wheelz became huge on this tile, but that just happened :-)

Hollibaugh, Schiphol and shoes

Last Sunday I had my 100.000th page-view!!!
I could never have thought that that would happen, when I started this blog in 2013.
For everyone who contributed to this HUGE amount: Thank you, thank you so much!!!!

Leuk dus!

Hollibaugh is the tangle Laura has chosen for Challenge 245. I think this is probably one of the first tangles we all learned and still use regularly.
So, a great challenge!!!

About 10 days ago when I was waiting for my daughter (who came to the Netherlands for a couple of days) at airport Schiphol I made this tile. It will always remember me of the fact that, when I was tangling this at the very same time the attacks in Paris were done.

For the birthday of my son, who is 'crazy' about special shoes, I tangled on a pair of sneakers. He doesn't really like my tangling, thinks it's all more of the same, but ..... with this shoes he was really pleased. At first he thought that I had bought them like this! If that isn't a compliment ......

B, E and X and P for Paris

This week the letters B, E and X are the lucky ones. I also added P, P for Paris; when I was drawing this tile that drama was exactly a week ago.

I found it hard to find tangles that I wanted to use. But this is what I made of it.

I chose:

Barberpole by Suzanne McNeil
Bask-It by Anna Houston
Emingle by Zentangle
X-plode by Margaret Mc Kerihan
and
Paris by Ina Sonnenmoser

By following this linkyou will see what other tanglers did and also how you yourself can participate.
