Last week I did not
comment much and after Friday I didn’t comment at all.
The reason is a very
sad one: Tedah, our very old cat, became very, very ill. For quite a
while you could see her getting old and having some problems walking
(arthritis). But, she still had fun in life and liked nice food,
warmth and being stroked.
Last Thursday she
stopped eating all of a sudden and you could see she was not happy
anymore. On Friday we went to our vet and he said she had a kidney
problem, a urinary infection and was a bit withered (and that while
she was drinking all the time) and, most of all, a very, very old
lady. We never knew her age because in 2002 I got her from a animal
shelter; we guessed she was about three years old then.
So, we went home with
her, taking some special food (a kidney diet) and she had got an
injection with antibiotic. We had to come back on Sunday for the next
injection. Yes, on Sunday, Easter Sunday, this very nice vet was
coming to do that on his day off!!!
But then it got worse
and worse with her.
It was hard to watch,
because there was so little left of our happy Tedah.
Tedah (a name from Wicca that means 'fierce beauty') |
On Sunday we spoke to
the vet and together we decided that we did not want her to suffer
any longer. So we had to make that (almost) impossible decision and let her go.
Later on we brought her
to the animal crematorium, that was actually closed but also there
was a very nice lady that came for us especially.
Today the house feels
terribly empty and we already miss her.
She
was certainly not the friendliest cat I ever had, but absolutely the
funniest and so very much my
cat.
So no you know why I
did hardly comment last week.
Normally I don't share
much personal stuff here, but now I felt a need to do so.
Then this week's
challenge.
Laura has asked us to
spill coffee, tea or whatever fluid on a tile and use that as our
string. I dropped some coffee on the tile
and when it was dry I started tangling. I liked doing this and the tangling was very relaxing; something I can use in these days.
I did turn the tile after tangling |
Thank
you for visiting my blog and I hope you leave me a comment. Work
created by fellow tanglers can be seen at 'I am the diva'.
Blessed Be!!!
Annemarie
Annemarie. I am so sorry to hear about your lovely cat. It is such a sad time and such a difficult decision. It is exactly 2 years since we had to make the same decision for our lovely dog Tolley. I am sharing my tears with you. God bless.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenLove your tile and the white that you added. I am so sorry to hear that your buddy is gone. Those are the most heart wrenching decisions to make but you did the right thing. Hang in there and God bless.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenSo sorry to hear about your loss! You know I just lost my Karma in January. Sending love and hugs!!
BeantwoordenVerwijderen(((Hugs))). It's so sad to lose a pet, they are such a wonderful part of the family. In our 50 years of marriage we've lost 4 cats and 2 dogs and I still miss everyone of them (and tear up thinking of them) but they have a place in our hearts forever. On a happier note I love the flow of your Tangle.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenMy Stella (black kitty) sends you kitty tail hugs and purrs. Love your tile, holds much energy
BeantwoordenVerwijderenToday is such a beautiful kitty! My heart goes out to you. That is such a difficult and heartbreaking decision to have to make. I had to make it 10 years ago with my tabby Max. It was only in the last year that I was ready for another purr-baby. I love how you tangled within the flow of the coffee. The colours on tan are terrific. Hugs to you Annemarie!
Dear Annemarie, I'm so sorry for the loss of your lovely Tedah. ZenHugs to you. Your tile is beautiful. I love the composition that the spill created and your patterns are perfect;-)
BeantwoordenVerwijderenAnnemarie, I'm sorry about the loss of your kitty. She looks like she was a very special cat, and I'm sure she will be missed for quite some time.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenOh, Annemarie, I am so sorry for the loss of your friend, Tedah. What a lucky cat to have spent her life being loved by you. Some of us find it difficult to share on the Internet, but you were drawn to do so because it was the right thing to do. We are a community that cares about our member. Sending you much love.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenAnnemarie, I'm so sorry for the lost of your beautiful and special cat. Thank you for sharing your feeling with us, I know it isn't easy. Your Diva-Tile is beautiful.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenAnnemarie, I am sorry for the loss of your long-time friend, I am sending some hugs your way. Your tile is lovely, I like especially the little black and white eyes you added.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenSo sorry for your loss, Annemarie. I'm glad you have an outlet for your feelings and I like what you did with the Diva project this week. Kind of contained within the spill, yet all these little bubbles all around are fanciful. c
BeantwoordenVerwijderenDear Annemarie, I am so sorry for your loss. Tedah gave you so much happiness and love, which I'm sure she received many times over from you. You were a faithful mom until the end. Although there is doubtless an enormous empty spot in your heart and home now, I hope that you will find her presence in happy memories over the course of the weeks and months to come. My Minou could be Tedah's twin brother! He sends cuddles and purrs, and knows that Tedah misses you, too.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenDear Annemarie, I´m so sorry for your loss of your lovely Tedah. My thoughts are with you!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenYou have tangled a very lovely tile!
Hugs, Annette
Oh Annemarie, I'm so so sorry for your loss. There is NOTHING as sad as losing a beloved pet; I know this very well. And it's different for everyone, but for me I've always gotten a new kitten or cat as soon as I could. It's not being unfaithful - it's the most restorative remedy for me….
BeantwoordenVerwijderenYour tile is lovely - soft and gentle. May you feel better soon!
Wat vervelend om te lezen van Tedah... Het huis voelt vast nog steeds veel te leeg. Ik zou onze kat Izzy ook niet willen missen, dus ik snap hoe je je voelt. Sterkte!
BeantwoordenVerwijderen(Mooie tile trouwens!)
I'm so sorry for your loss. I too am trying to deal with life after a beloved pet has passed (my pup passed away in mid-Feb). She was so special to us, you are in my thoughts.
