Finally!!!!

Finally!!! Yesterday I found the new Gelly Roll Bright White pens in a shop here in town. It took a while for them to come to the Netherlands, but now we can buy them too.

'Nested Hearts' is the subject of challenge 352. I did not know the word 'nested', so learned something again. Next to the pleasure of the weekly challenge, there is always the benefit to learn more (and hopefully) better English by participating.

I decided to work on this special paper with only black pens and pencil and kept it quite simple.

Heart of a champion

Hearts again this week and also the Olympics as a theme.
I found that very hard to do, so it took me some days to think of how to manage this challenge.

I started with five rings and little hearts between them (sorry, not really a heart string) and then colored the rings.
Some aura's and then I had no idea how to continue. After some time sitting there and looking at the tile I decided to make a background with a pencil and so I did.
Here is the result:

Heartstring and Rimana

First I like to thank all of you that sent me kind words about recovering from the flu. That gave me a great community feeling!
I'm much better now, even went to work in the hospice again yesterday!

The challenges for this month will all be with a heart string; not really my cup of tea, but we are all different in what we like or don't like.
I had a hard time to find out what to do with this heart and the UMT Rimana by Nadine Roller. I like that tangle, but combining it????? So ... a hard time.
But, it is what it is and this is it:

The flu and Rumpus

As some of you may have read, there was no input from me for last week's challenge.

Almost two weeks ago the FLU got me, and that was a long, long time ago. Since some years I get the 'flu shot' in autumn and never had this horrible flu. But this year, the vaccination did not cover a certain mutation and that’s the one that got me (and many people in this country).
Last Sunday I did get another surprise on top of it: a urinary infection! Also not something you really want :-(

I think today is the first day I feel a little better and ... I even drank a cup of coffee (always a sign of getting better). The good thing that came out of this all: I lost the three kilo that I really needed to loose :-)

So, last night I sat at the table and tangled for the first time since I became ill. Finding out, that this week's tangle Rumpus is a real nice one to relax.
I am not very fond of the result, but the process was pleasant, especially after almost two weeks.

No challenge for me this week

For the first time since I started joining the Challenge years ago, I did not join last week. Last Sunday the Flu got me very ill for days. Even now, a week later, I still feel horrible.🤒
So ... if you missed me, that's the reason.

BTW: I did have the flu vaccination, but it did not work. Unfortunately 🤧

Tracing objects

Challenge 347: traced objects.

Looking around me for some objects only brought me some objects that were too big for a tile. So, I went to the kitchen, opened a drawer and found:

So I traced them on 'elefantenhaut' paper, that is so very pleasant to work on

And started tangling. I like doing this challenge, so Thank you Laura!

I also did a few other tiles:

The first challenge is a hard one (for me)

After a well deserved break Laura is back again.
Good to have the first challenge of 2018!

I do hope you all have had some nice times; we had nice Christmas days with a dinner at my son's (he always cooks us a 'star' dinner) house as the highlight. The 27th Kees went to UK because his daughter was giving birth to her third child on the 29th. And indeed a beautiful little girl was born that day and Kees was really happy to be there. He wanted me to come along, but I am a real wimp because I don't dare to go on the boat from the Netherlands to UK (or fly), so I staid home alone. That also meant I was alone on New years eve, but to be honest, I didn't mind that very much. Kees came back the 2nd of January.
And now, everything is back to normal and that a good thing too.

This week's challenge is a duotangle: Phicops vs. Huggins. When I first read that, I thought it would be hard to combine these two and I was right, I had a hard time making this tile. And, after finishing I don't really like it (Phicops should have been larger I think), but it is what it is. I tangled on beautiful grey paper with little dark 'lines' in it.
