Love that tangle!

A challenge from our own Diva again, good to have her back!

'Crazy Nzeppel with Molly' it's called and there is a video from Molly working on it. I really do like this tangle, but don't use it very often. Now I intent to change that because I realize that I don not only like, but LOVE it.

I started with a tile colored with the Eco Dye method some weeks ago and wanted to do some circles to start with. The tile is light beige, hard to see in the scan. I did this last night and had a great time tangling! And .. I like the end result too :-)

Last week I thought it was time to do a (pre strung) zendala; almost forgotten how pleasant that is. I still miss the challenges Erin, The wise Owl, had for us for a long time.

Thank you for visiting my blog and I hope you leave me a comment; I do appreciate that a lot. Work created by fellow tanglers can be seen at 'I am the diva'.

Autumn; cozy tangling

And, quite unexpected, again a questblogger, well two to be precise: Juliette Fiessinger and Kellie Fellinge. You can find out who they are on the Diva's blog.

I hope I do understand what the challenge is about, because it was a bit difficult for me. Cozy and autumn, two words that I took with me in this challenge.
For me this time of year means closing the curtains in the evening and burning incense and candles. I took a warm red tile, that has that feeling for me and started tangling without thinking, just for fun and doing what makes me feel good.
This is what came out of that mindset:

Last week I created a bookmark on blue paper. In drew it with a white pen and the result is one I do like.

Two squared

And yes, after a well deserved holiday, our 'good old' Laura (sorry Laura) is back.
The family had a great summer and has even grown: with a puppy called Luna!

The challenge of this week is 'String it: 2² (two squared)'; meaning to take two squares as your string. I did two overlapping squares on a pre-colored tile and started tangling. Like I do a lot of times, I made the string lines double.

I did like working on this one.

The next tile is the one I have been tangling while working in the hospice in July and August. When I'm working there sometimes it's a bit quiet and we (always working with two volunteers) sit at the kitchen table having a coffee. You can see how little time there was for tangling in these two month, just one tile
done :-)

Petoskey stones and a kind gesture

Jane Reiter is the guest blogger this week.
She introduced spectacular stones to us (well, most of us I think): Petoskey Stones, found in Michigan. If you want to know more about these very beautiful and interesting stones, go to the Diva blog.

She asked us to make a tile inspired by these stones.
First I went on the internet, downloaded a hexagon and traced it on a green tile from my stock. After that I tangled this tile and loved how easy (and relaxing) it was to do.
Thanks Jane, I had quite some zen time.

Last week I wrote that I wasn't able to make a mosaic because I don't have Photoshop. Then I got a mail from Thailand from Susie Ngamsuwan with a mosaic of my tile she made for me.
This is what she sent me:

And later an other mail with her explanation how I could do it myself in a free online photo editor.
So very kind of her!!! Thanks again Susie :-)

Only one plate

Jeanette Clawson is the guest blogger for Laura this week. She has chosen 'Zentangle Plates' as the subject.

This is a challenge I like, but only made one because I am quite busy this week. In fact I started by dividing a 15 x 15 (cm) tile in four tiles, but have three left now.
I have just seen some post where tanglers made a mosaic of the one they tangled, but I just can't think of how to do that now. Well, maybe later.

Tangling this one was very pleasant and relaxing. Thank you Jeanette!

Fragment D-1 and gourds

Quite a surprise this week, to see a Dutch CZT as the guest 'Diva'.
It is Marguerite Samama from Amsterdam; you can get to know her a bit better on the weblog of our 'real' Diva!

Marguerite wants us to use Fragment D-1 for the challenge this week. I think this is a great challenge!
Because blue is a favorite color of Marguerite I took a tile I colored blue a while ago and als used a blue pen. My daughter bought me some Shihan Touch liners (pens) and I used them (well, only the blue one) for the first time and ... like it.

I do like the result of my tile and hope you do so too.

Some time ago I saw a new plant, that I didn't plant there, growing in our front garden. My friend Gerla knew what it was: a gourd! Because I loved the leaves a lot, I just let it grow there and to my surprise there were some gourds on it too. They became bigger and BIGGER. I was afraid they would break from the plant because it was growing on a wall. Last Sunday when I came home from working in the hospice, the plant was hanging down, but the gourds still attached.

I cut them loose and
 they are so beautiful!!!

Our guest is ..... (drum roll) Suzanne Fluhr

And, since Laura still has her holiday, again a guest for the Diva challenge.
Suzanne Fluhr is our host this week and because it's the first Monday (in fact Tuesday because there was a holiday in Canada this last Monday) of the month it comes with an UMT.
The tangle is one of Suzanne herself and in fact a very organic one. I don't think I ever used it again, so a nice moment to try it.

I took a tile with a 'summery' look and started. I liked doing this and also the result.

Thanks Suzanne!!
