More fall

En, ook de String Thing (59) van deze week heeft 'herfst' als thema. Adele is op zoek gegaan naar tangles die passen in het thema; de string heeft ze zelf gemaakt geïnspireerd door de tangle Oke van Michelle Beauchamp. Als tweede tangle koos ze Meringue van Kelley Kelly.

Allebei nieuw voor mij en dus een forse uitdaging om ze 'passend' te maken. Ik nam een eerder met Lindsy's Stamp Gang spray gekleurde tile met herfstkleuren en tanglede hierop.

De string heb ik nogal opvallend gemaakt met de dikke kant van een Dual Point Identi Pen.

And, also the String Thing (59) of this week has 'fall' as subject. Adele was looking for tangles that fit the theme and made the string herself, inspired by Oke by Michelle Beauchamp. As second tangle she has chosen Meringue by Kelley Kelly.

Both new to me and a big challenge to make them 'fit'. I took a tile in fall colors, that I had colored before with Lindy's Stamp Gang spray and tangle on it. I made the string pop up by using the thick side of a Dual Point Identi pen.

Leaves and feathers

De herfst komt eraan en Laura bedacht dat het onderwerp van Challenge 186 dus 'bladeren' moet zijn. Ik zocht een paar bladeren in de tuin en legde een blad op een tile van 15 x 15 cm. Hierop bracht ik wat Lindy's Stamp Gang sprays aan en haalde het blad weg.

In het (niet gekleurde) blad bracht ik tangles aan met een bruine pen en schaduw met verschillende kleuren bruine en groene potloden. Jammer toch altijd dat een scan de kleuren niet echt goed weergeeft.

Ik ben blij met het resultaat, echt herfst!

Fall is coming and Laura thought that the subject of Challenge 186 should be 'leaves'.

I got some leaves from my garden en placed one of them on a 15 x 15 cm tile. Used some Lindy's Stamp Gang sprays and got rid of the leaf.

Then tangled in the white spot of the leaf with a brown pen and shaded with some brown and green pencils. As always the scan doesn't do right to the colors.

I'm quite happy with the result; real autumn!

Vorige week hebben mijn vriendin Gerla (het idee is van haar) en ik een 'verenhouder' gemaakt van golfkarton, hierop Gesso aangebracht en ook hierop heb ik Lindy's Stamp Gang sprays gebruikt. We maakten zo'n verenhouder omdat we altijd overal veren verzamelen en op deze manier kun je ze leuk bewaren.

Last week my friend Gerla (the idea is hers) and I made a holder for feathers, using corrugated cardboard; first put some Gesso on it and then added color with Lindy's Stamp Gang sprays too. We made this holder because we always collecting feathers and in this way you can keep them in a nice way.

10th anniversary, let's (Diva) dance!

Phicops en DivaDance, de twee tangles die Laura uitzocht voor deze duo-tangle, de challenge van deze week.

Dit nog om hun 10e trouwdag van vorige week te vieren.

Ik vond deze lastig; weet nooit goed wat te doen met Phicops, hoewel ik van anderen de mooiste resultaten zie. Ik ben dan ook niet erg blij met het resultaat, maar zoals altijd, plaats ik het eerste wat ik hiermee maak.

Wat anderen er deze keer van maakten ga ik gauw bekijken.

Phicops vs DivaDance, these are the two tangles that Laura sorted for this duo-tangle, the challenge of this week.

All because they celebrated their 10th anniversary last week.

It was not easy for me; I never really know what to do with Phicops, however I see the most beautiful things from other tanglers. I'm not pleased with the result, but as always I will post the first one I made.

Now I'll go and see what others did with the challenge.

ST 57

String Thing 57, een erg leuke volgens mij.

String 56 is degene die we hiervoor gebruiken en die is vol krullen en gebogen lijnen. De tangles zijn: Drip Drop, Dekore, Dust Bunny en Drupe.

Ik heb ze alle vier gebruikt en werkte met een zwatre Sakura pen op een van te voren, met Lindy's Stamp Gang sprays, gekleurde tile. De buitenste string kleurde ik later met een Gelly Roll Metallic pen.

Ben blij met het resultaat, het blijft alleen jammer dat je de glans niet ziet op een scan.

String Thing 57, a nice one if you ask me.

String 56 is the one we use this time and it's full of curls and bended lines. The tangles are: Drip Drop, Dekore, Dust Bunny and Drupe.

I used all four of them and worked with a black Sakura pen on a previous, with Lindy's Stamp Gang spays, colored tile. The outer string is colored with a Gelly Roll Metallic pen.

I'm happy with the result, but it is always a pity that you don't see the glaze on a scan.

ING and trousers

Zoals te verwachten was, speelt de nieuwe officiele tangle (van Molly deze keer) ING, deze week de hoofdrol. Ik kan er niets aan doen, maar moet steeds aan de Bank denken :-)

Een leuke tangle, die makkelijker lijkt dan hij is, je moet gewoon erg opletten.

Vorige week heb ik een paar spuitflesjes Lindy'd Stamp Gang Moon Shadow Mist binnen gekregen en dus meteen wat tiles hiermee gekleurd. Ik zag deze spay's op het blog van Alice Hendon, Creator's Leaf en vond het zo mooi dat ik een webwinkel in Nederland zocht, die ze verkoopt.

Prachtige parelmoerglans, alleen jammer dat de scan die glans niet laat zien.

Ik gebruikte dus zo'n tile en heb met veel plezier aan deze challenge gewerkt; ik denk dat dat te zien is!

As to be expected, the new official tangle (by Molly this time ING, plays the leading part this week. I cannot help that this name makes me think of the Bank all the time :-)

A nice tangle, that looks easier then it is, you have to keep focused.

Last week I received some spray bottles of Lindy's Stamp Gang Moon Shadow Mist and right away colored some tiles. I first saw these spray's at the blog of Alice Hendon, Creator's Leaf and liked them so much that I looked for a webshop in the Netherlands, that sells them.

A gorgeous pearly glace, just a pity that the scan doesn't show it.

So I used one of those tiles and worked on this challenge with a lot of pleasure; I think it shows.

Toen ik een paar dagen geleden in het dorp liep, zag ik een rek buiten een kledingzaak staan met een broek die ik wel mee 'moest' nemen. Toch?

String Thing 56

Adele heeft ook deze week weer een String Thing gemaakt, nummer 56.

Hiervoor moeten we String 57 gebruiken, een string met allemaal rechte vakken. Lastig, maar de tangles die we krijgen, passen er goed bij.

Het zijn: Tagh, Telis, Ticking, Trivet en Twile. Voor mij zijn ze allemaal nieuw en ik gebruikte ze allemaal.

Ik heb er wat kleur in aangebracht met kleurpotloden.

Also this week a String Thing coming from Adele; number 56.

For this challenge we have to use string 57, a string with all straight rectangles. Tricky, but the tangles given to us, fit in very well.

These are: Tagh, Telis, Ticking, Trivet and Twile. They are all new to me and I used all of them.

I added some color with coloring pencils.

X-Did, the September UMT

Het begin van een nieuwe maand en dus een UMT. X-Did, van Annette Carlo. Makkelijk en leuk om te doen, wel wat lastig om er andere tangles bij te plaatsen.

Dit is de eerste keer dat ik afwijk van mijn 'gouden regel'; net als onze Diva plaats ik altijd de eerste poging, mooi of niet. Nu echter ging er bij de eerste lijnen al zoveel mis, dat ik dat weggooide. Zo zie je maar, regels zijn er om soms van af te wijken.

Gister kleurde ik wat tiles, alleen deze keer met Acryl verf. Op zich mooi geworden, maar met een pen valt er bijna niet op te tekenen, het is heel stroef geworden. Voortaan weer inkt gebruiken om tiles te kleuren dus.

Helaas zijn de kleuren in de scan wat weggevallen, maar dat gebeurt met scannen vaak.

Waarom weet ik niet, maar ik ben er erg blij mee.

Misschien omdat ik, voor het eerst na dagen en weken met veel regen, lekker in de tuin kon tanglen!?

The beginning of a new month, so an UMT. X-Did by Annette Carlo. Easy to do and nice too, just a bit hard to find other tangles next to it.

This is the first time that I differ from my 'golden rule'; like our Diva I always post my first tile, pretty or not. However this time already with the first lines so much went wrong that I threw it in the bin. So, you see, sometimes you have to deflect the rules.

I had colored some tiles yesterday, this time with Acrylic paint. It became beautiful, but it's very hard to tangle on it with a pen, the surface has become quite rough. So, a lesson learned: the next time I'll use ink again.

Unfortunately the colors are lightened up by scanning, but that happens a lot while scanning. I don't know why, but I am very pleased with the result.

Maybe because I was able to sit and tangle in the garden, after days and weeks filled with rain.
