Some frustration

The new challenge was quite frustrating for me at first. My English is not too bad I think, but I didn't really understand what we had to do.
I had some contact with a friend here in the Netherlands, asked my husband (who lived in UK for more then 20 years) for help, but it was not enough to know what to do.

Then there was Ria Matteussen that helped me out, by telling that the book is in Dutch too and I ordered it right away (of course). I looked at some entries (something I normally don't) and the one of Diana Scheur, with her explanation in Dutch, helped me a lot. Thanks Ria and Diana!!!!

So I started my tile last night and OMG, I like this!!!!
Today my new book will arrive and I look forward to it.

Thank you for visiting my blog and I hope you leave me a comment. Work created by fellow tanglers can be seen at 'I am the diva'.

Blessed Be!!!
Annemarie

  1. Your tile shows how simple yet complex fragments can be. The book will have you hooked on them too.

  2. You certainly have excellent English Annemarie, glad you got help and a new book on the way. You did very well on your tile and grasped what was required. I met Diana at a recent CZT seminar in the UK, what a lovely lady and so talented. :D

  4. I know you will enjoy the book, Annemarie. The closest you can get to taking a class with an actual CZT. Your tile is perfect!

  5. Your so welcome Annemarie!

  9. Even though I have the book, and I like the concept, I was having trouble working it out. But seeing what you and some others have done has given me confidence to do it. I like yours very much.

  10. The book didn't help me understand… I had to ask around as well.
And the thought of fragments and reticula just gave me the jitters. I found that once I started - it was actually a bit fun! I love how yours turned out!

  11. Prachtig! En wat leuk om te zien dat zoiets 'onbegrijpelijks' uiteindelijk toch een succes kan worden :-)

  12. I was also struggling with what the reticula/fragments were, but since there are mistakes in Zentangle, I pressed on. I love what you have done with this challenge.

  13. I love your tile and that fragment is great. I had to lurk a bit and check out other submissions before I gave it a go. I don't have the book so I'm sort of enjoying the process of figuring it out for myself. Other blogs have been extremely helpful.

  15. I think it's a pretty sophisticated concept to understand. Your tile looks like you've understood it perfectly! (And I think your English is amazing, too! I can't imagine writing an entire blog in my second language, French, as well as you do!) Enjoy the book! I devoured mine in one sitting!

  16. Annemarie, your English is wonderful and your tile is amazing - without a book! Beautiful work! I am glad that you like reticula & fragments and that you were able to get the book in Dutch. Happy tangling!

  20. You created something quite lovely despite the struggle. I especially like the soft shading that gives a balance to the white spaces around the pattern.
