Diptych (never heard that word before)

I did like the challenge Laura had for us this week!

It was quite different to do, but so relaxing. I LOVED it!!!

After finishing I folded the bottom part to let it stand, but that did not really work.

I will probably not comment much this coming week, because on Thursday I will travel to Switzerland, to my daughter for almost a week. Of course I'll take my iPad and phone, but I don't think there will be much time for commenting, because I like to spend all my time with her and her husband. Well, maybe in the train, if there is Wi-Fi.

First a BIG 'Thank you' for all your heartwarming comments last week about the story of my husband Kees. We both appreciate this a lot!

And now the challenge of this week.

I LOVED this challenge, just loved it.

Started with looking for a friendly image of a caterpillar on internet and printed that. Then glued it on my (green was appropriate I thought) tile and started tangling.

Maybe you wonder why I chose a caterpillar; well, I think they probably are the most underappreciated creatures. People hate them when they eat their bushes and most of the time kill them.

Later people LOVE butterflies and don't realize that there would be much more of those beautiful creatures if they didn't kill the caterpillars. That's why I have chosen the caterpillar and .... yes you think right: I don't kill them.

My knight in shining armor and the weekly challenge

Last week was a hectic one; I'll explain why.

As some of you know, Kees (my husband), has CP (Cerebral Palsy) what was called 'spastic' earlier.

Sometimes when he is walking outside children or adults call him nasty names or deride him. With help of an organization for disabled people (if you translate this, it is something like 'Netherlands unlimited'), Kees went to a school nearby to tell a class of children (about 11 years old) what it is to live with a handicap like this.

There were also people from two TV stations (one national and the other one regional) that did interviews with him and filmed him in school and at home.

This all happened on Thursday, but also Friday was filled with reactions from lots of people known and unknown. Those reactions were heartwarming and something to be remembered.

No need to tell you how proud I am that he did this. Not just for himself but for all people 'different'!

As Kees said "We have moved a stone in a river on earth" (translated from a Dutch song).

So, and now to the challenge of this week: String Theory - Stripes!

I like this challenge and worked on it with a real zen feeling. Decided to leave the stripe in the center open and after finishing I think that was the right thing to do.

Molygon on pink

Laura asks us to make a 'study' of Molygon this week.

Well, I did not really study this tangle because my Mosaic App doesn't work anymore. It tells me that the password is not correct, so I ask for a new one and also with the new one they send me it doesn't work. Of course I'm doing something wrong, but what?????

Does anyone has had the same problem?

Anyway, I just did some Molygon in my scrapbook for trying and then started the tile. The result is not world shocking, but it's also not too bad.

Scallamps in purple

Wow, I just love this weeks challenge. Scallamps by Sarah Uram is such a pleasant and easy to draw tangle. So elegant and beautiful!

So, I had a great time this evening creating this tile.
